Terms of sale

These are the terms for buying from tejslab.com. They are the same promises the product page makes, written down in one place. Nothing here takes away rights you have under the consumer law of the country you live in.

Who you are buying from

Tej’s Lab, trading as Tejslab, a sole proprietorship in Canada. Contact: [email protected]. When these terms say “we”, that is who is meant.

What is sold

Three Layeraser glass polishing files, sold together as one product, and a set of optional add-ons offered alongside them at checkout: buffing wheels, polishing compound, sponge sanding discs and a cordless rotary tool. Which add-ons appear depends on where the order is going, because not everything can be posted everywhere. Nothing here is a subscription and nothing renews. Exactly what is in the box, and what is not, is listed on the product page. Winterwatt, four 1.5 V AA lithium titanate cells sold as a pack of four, shipped direct from the manufacturer.

Ordering and payment

Checkout is handled by Stripe. Your order is placed when Stripe confirms payment, and Stripe emails you a receipt. Payment is in Canadian dollars by card, Apple Pay, Link or Klarna where Stripe offers them. We do not see or store your card details.

If we cannot fulfil an order, for example because an item is out of stock or cannot be shipped to your address, we will tell you and refund you in full.

Prices, shipping and duties

The price shown at checkout is the price you pay us. Shipping is free to every country checkout offers you. No sales tax is added at checkout at present.

Import duties, customs fees or import VAT charged by your own country when the parcel arrives are not included and are yours to pay. We do not collect them and cannot predict them, because they are set by your country. For most orders in the countries we ship to they are small or nil, but that is not a promise.

Delivery

Each item is posted separately and items in one order can arrive on different days. The estimate is about a week. It is an estimate, not a guarantee. You are responsible for giving a correct and complete delivery address.

If an item has not arrived 45 days after it was dispatched, email us. We will chase it and, if it cannot be found, replace it or refund it in full.

Returns and faults

Changed your mind. Send the item back unused within 30 days of receiving it and we refund the price in full. Unused means the files have not been used on a part and the compound is unopened. You pay the return postage. Email [email protected] first and we will tell you where to send it.

Arrived broken or faulty. Email a photo to [email protected] within 30 days of receiving it. We will refund or replace it, your choice, and we pay the postage to get the faulty item back to us. The faulty item goes back up the chain so the fault is fixed at the source.

Refunds go back to the payment method you used, through Stripe, and usually show within five to ten business days.

If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of receiving the goods. Our 30-day return period includes that and is longer than it.

Subscriptions

There are none. Everything sold here is charged once, on the day you order it. There is nothing to cancel and nothing that renews. If you need fresh buffing wheels or more compound later, you order them the same way you ordered anything else.

Using them

These are for finishing 3D prints in PLA and cured resin. The files are used by hand. The optional polishing pass needs a rotary tool that takes a 1/8 inch or 3 mm collet. Rotary tools, buffing wheels and glass files can hurt you if used carelessly: wear eye protection, keep hair and loose clothing clear, do not hold small parts in your fingers against a spinning wheel, and follow the instructions of whoever made your rotary tool. Polishing generates fine dust; work in a ventilated space or wet.

The part you polish is yours and its outcome depends on the print, the material and your technique. We are not responsible for damage to a part you choose to work on.

Liability

Our liability to you for any order is limited to the price you paid for it, except where the law does not allow that limit, for example for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for rights you have under consumer protection law in Canada, the European Union, the United Kingdom or wherever you live. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Canada and of the province in which Tejslab is resident. If you are a consumer elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your own country and may bring a claim in your own courts. Before any of that, email us. Almost everything is sorted out in one exchange.

The text, photographs and designs on this site, and the Layeraser name and mark, belong to Tej’s Lab. When these terms change, the date at the top changes; the terms in force when you ordered are the ones that apply to that order.
